Put your foot down #70

What’s under my foot?

Welcome to another Put your foot down.  Whether you are here to link up or see what everyone is working on, Thank You. Me, I have made a few more units for the Burgoyne Surrounded blocks and my new sewing lamp arrived.  For years I have used a clip on LED to add additional light at my needle and it has worked well. However the plastic clip broke and any small bump to the light will send it to the floor. The new lamp is metal and attaches with a c-clamp. What do you use to add extra light at your needle?

Blog Hops

After the crazy days from last week it has been nice to do a little relaxed sewing.  In case you missed it I participated in 3 blogs hops and they all occurred within 7 days and overlapped.  Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed myself and I’m still enjoying it because the Garden Party Row Along runs through Oct. 13th. So stop by Seams to be Sew for list of all participating blogs and prizes. Every blog has a free row for you to download.

The last day of the Island Batik Blog Hop was Monday. There are many pretty new collections being released this fall and all 25 Ambassadors shared their ByAnnie bag finishes with new fabric. It’s a good choice. I chose the pattern Contain Yourself which is fabric baskets. With scraps I made a few mug rugs and passed them out to family and friends.

This is my favorite photo because it shows the rich colors of the Sunset Plumes Collection. The shell fabric really is that amazing and the green trim makes it pop. This collection is shipping to stores this month.

Your shares from #69

#69 had the most inspiring and beautiful shares in one linky party which  made it difficult to choose just 2. Sometimes I feature a 3rd blog when one of my designs linked up but that isn’t the case this week. Because I was so inspired I am featuring 4. Stop by #69 to view all.

First is Mellow Yellow from Sew Yummy. I’m a sucker for vintage quilts and this one makes me think of something my grandmother would have made ( a good thing).

This Fassett quilt top by DONNALEEQ, oh what beautiful colors. As soon as I am finished writing this post I am going shopping.

You should really go see the detailed quilting in  Andrée’s quilt over at Quilting & Learning. The soft chalky look of the fabric really drew me in and I absolutely love the color of her border fabric. She is also celebrating her 300th linky party so wish her a happy birthday or anniversary.

And speaking of quilting detail, Storied Quilts, what a stunning finish. The on point Storm at Sea, her color placement and the quilting created a stunning finish.

  1. I have exactly those same units on my sewing machine but I am making chains for my 3030 Quilt. I have a metal clamp on light from Ikea on both of my sewing tables and my desk. I carry a portable light in my stitching bag for baysitting so I can read and stitch. I seem to need so much more light these days.

    1. The clamp on light I was using worked okay but the neck was only about 12″, fingers crossed this one works well. Same here with needing light.

  2. Hi Denise! You really did have a busy week there with blog hops. But that’s a good thing – now you should have some time to work on projects that catch your eye. ~smile~ Roseanne
