Put your foot down #119

Put your foot down is a weekly linky party to share your fiber arts WIP’s and finishes, and hopefully make new friends along the way. Welcome, I invite you to stop in every Thursday and share your projects.

Welcome to another Put your foot down! This week I have a lot to share, both sewing and not.

First, what made my day yesterday was a surprise package from Anne-Marie of Stories from the Sewing Room

I love it! It even includes a little brush for cleaning the stainless straw. Thank you Anne-Marie, I really needed some kindness this week.

A couple weeks ago I shared that I was the winner of a Bernette B77. Sewing Machines Plus hosted a Virtual Sew Fest and while I did enter a couple quilts that is not what the prize was for. It was merely a participation prize for their live event. Either way I was so happy, what a great prize.

Monday I shared the finish for Island Batik’s October challenge. The challenge was to use the Aurifil Endangered Species Color Builder I received in the July box. You can see more about my Pink Land Iguana here.

Work has begun on the November IB challenge using a Summer 2021 collection as well as block 3 for the Flower Patch Sew Along. There is still time to join in before the block patterns start coming down.

Your shares from last week

Andrée always amazes me with her projects. She has me curious on so many different techniques. You can view this and so much more at Quilting & Learning-What a Combo.

Isn’t this beautiful? Nanette from Chopin-A Passionate Quilter from Texax shared A Bountiful Life. She also has a new finish on a Dresden Quilt.

  1. Hi Denise, what a great Iguana quilt. I love the text also! Thanks so much for featuring my Traveller’s Blanket. I just posted an update. I hope that you have a great week. Take care.

    1. Thank you. I was really going for a minimalist look to fit the saying, when they’re gone. I’m happy with the results but I feel like there is too much empty space. Absolutely, I remember when you started working on it. I’ll go check out your update. You have a great week as well.

  2. Little gifts in the mail are so fun and can really lift our souls when needed. So sweet! What an awesome win with that sewing machine. Lucky you! The Pink Iguana is a beauty!
